Partnership Subgroups

NSCP Partnership Group (PG)

The Partnership Group is made up of strategic leaders from the wider partnership who work closely with the 3 Statutory Partners and the Independent Chair to help direct and drive the work of the Partnership and its sub-groups. Partnership Group also supports and provides challenge to ensure the Partnership achieves its overarching vision and business plans.

Safeguarding Intelligence, Performance and Practice (SIPP)

Supports the NSCP in fulfilling its statutory duty to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of work done by the Local Authority and partners individually and collectively to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and advise them on ways to improve. SIPP has 3 key strands for gathering performance information; multi-agency audit; strategic data analysis; and observation of practice.

Safeguarding Practive Review Group (SPRG)

Makes all decisions regarding and oversees the conduct of child safeguarding practice reviews under Chapter 4 of the guidance Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018, and single and multi-agency management reviews, where children have died or been seriously injured as a result of abuse or neglect. Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP)

Undertakes comprehensive and multi-disciplinary review of child deaths to improve the understanding of how and why children in Norfolk die and use the findings to take actions to prevent further child deaths and more generally to improve the health and safety of children in Norfolk.

Workforce Development Group (WDG)

Supports the Norfolk Safeguarding Children Partnership (NSCP) fulfilling one of it’s key responsibilities-to ensure both single and inter-agency training is delivered to a consistently high standard, and that a process exists for evaluating the effectiveness of training and ensure that all individual members of the workforce who have contact with children, families or parents are recruited and trained to a standard that facilitates effective safeguarding of children.

Local Safeguarding Children Groups (LSCGs)

Ensures effective front line coordination of agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and acts as a key link in ensuring that knowledge and intelligence from the local groups informs the Partnership.

Health Safeguarding Advisory Group (HSAG)

For health professionals, both providers and commissioners, to convene and discuss safeguarding issues from a purely health perspective and advise the Partnership on themes emerging, such as increased incidents of self harm.

District Council Advisory Group (DCAG)

To ensure that all Norfolk’s District Councils are meeting their duties and obligations under the Children Act 2004 and Working Together 2018 and increasing the visibility of the district council functions in the work of the NSCP.

Early Years Advisory Group (EYAG)

To promote and raise awareness of the role of the sector and the EY professionals role, to support and challenge Early Year providers to ensure that they are fulfilling their safeguarding responsibilities effectively and to disseminate learning from serious case reviews.
