Revised Norfolk Threshold Guide – September 2017

4th October 2017

Following the successful launch of the NSCB’s innovative Threshold Guide in June 2016, we have consulted with professionals and made further amendments. The 2017 version now includes further detail around what we mean by ‘Thresholds of Intervention’ and clear Descriptors of Need, as well as reference to the Assessment Triangle as set out in Working Together. The purpose of these updates is to support professionals to articulate their concerns and work with families to identify solutions that are right for them.

We have gone back to the illustrator and commissioned her to update the document so it maintains and builds on its family and children friendly look.

The illustrated Threshold Guide, as well as a Text only version of the Guide in full and the Descriptors (separately) are all available on our website from today. Hard copies will be circulated to schools, Early Years settings, the Local Safeguarding Children Groups (LSCGs) and the Voluntary Sector.

The LSCGs will also be putting on local launch events. Dates for each locality area will be advertised as soon as they are all agreed.

We hope you find the revised Guide useful and we will continue to seek feedback from partners and service users to ensure that we achieve Norfolk’s vision and that our children get the right services at the right time for the right duration.
